The trends indicate millennials are outpacing others online for this…..

“It is a belief that our younger generation does more shopping online than in shops”, according to Douglas Vandergraph who is an industry expert and owner of 49 highly successful online retail organizations including the online shopping mall giant www.BargainBrute.com.

Douglas referred to Deloitte’s 2017 Holiday Retail Survey that definatively affirms that trend, noting that Millennials do the majority of their holiday shopping online. This impressive poll also found that the younger Generation Z (10- to 17-year-olds) spent 61 percent of their holiday budgets online and only 35% in brick and mortar shops. Generation X shoppers and seniors spent 52 percent of their budgets with online businesses and 33 % in brick and mortar stores, respectively.

Douglas indicates additionally that annual spending customs might not be completely reflected by Deloitte’s holiday survey. Back in September, the research firm’s First Insight claimed that 71 percent of Millennials visit the best prices to be found by going online and to multiple shops, compared to only 57 percent of Baby Boomers.

Back in June, CouponFollow discovered that 76 percent of Millennials “surf the internet before purchasing anything.” Of those, the item is bought by 67 percent while the purchase is made by only 33% online.

These reports suggest that while shopping is still gaining momentum with younger shoppers, it is probably premature to assert that BargainBrute.com or its affiliates will leave most brick-and-mortar retailers outdated. Meanwhile, omnichannel solutions like in-store pickup will probably assist innovative retailers keep pace with online marketplaces.
